With this year’s theme anchored on “Army and Nation, United for a Cameroon Focused on Peace and Prosperity”, the 2025 celebration lays emphasis on the close bond between the military and the Cameroonian people, as well as their shared aspirations for a peaceful and thriving future.

The preparations carried out by the different forces have been extensive, involving countless hours of rehearsals and meticulous attention to detail. From perfectly synchronized marching formations to the precise movements of military vehicles, every aspect of the parade is being carefully crafted to create a powerful and visually stunning display. A key element of the parade is the performance by the Army’s main musical ensemble, which will present a captivating round about display.

This intricate performance requires a high degree of skill and coordination, as musicians maneuver in complex formations while playing stirring melodies that evoke a sense of national pride. The military’s preparations are not confined to Yaoundé only. In various regions across the country, synchronized ceremonies and events are being organized to promote the spirit of Unity Day.

Showcasing Cameroon’s richness

The different activities often include flag-raising ceremonies, displays of military equipment, and cultural performances that highlight the diversity and richness of Cameroonian society as stated by Cameroonian diplomat, Dr. Simon-Pierre Omba-Mbida. “Whenever we see the flag, whenever we touch the flag, it is Cameroon that we are touching, we are celebrating and honoring Cameroon. We have heard this message of commitment of all citizens of Cameroon. We are therefore happy, we are proud, to live this day of patriotism,” The National Day parade is more than just a display of military doing, it is a symbol of the nation’s interest to peace, stability, and progress according to the diplomat.

The parade aims to inspire a sense of unity and patriotism among Cameroonians of all backgrounds, reinforcing the idea that the military is a force for good, dedicated to protecting the nation and its citizens. “Everything was stopped, indeed, the traffic, the passers-by, they were stopped to respect the national flag, which represents the state,” the official of the Ministry of External Relations continued, highlighting the respect and honor for the country. The preparation is a ceremony to honor the country’s emblems of the national identity.
