Elite one: south dove continues soaring high

Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo is flying high at the top of the MTN Elite One table with 37 points after a dominant display against Coton Sport of Garoua on matchday 16 of the second round, yesterday.
The Yaoundé Military Stadium played host to two thrilling encounters yesterday Tuesday March 26. In the headline clash, Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo put on a commanding performance to see off Coton Sport of Garoua 2-0. Rodrigue Onana broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, before Luc Armand Bide sealed the deal in the 66th minute. With this result, Colombe extends its impressive run to 11 wins, 4 draws, and just 1 loss.
Coton Sport, meanwhile, remains in third place with 27 points, boasting 7 wins, 6 draws, and 3 defeats. The opening game of the day saw Canon Sportif of Yaoundé overpower Bamboutos of Mbouda with a solid 2-0 victory. Pascal Ombolo put Canon ahead from the spot in the 32nd minute, and Frank Steve Belobo doubled the lead with another penalty in the 86th minute.
This win pushes Canon Sportif up to fourth place in the standings, while Bamboutos finds itself languishing in 12th. In other action from Saturday, March 23, Aigle de Moungo edged Stade Renard 1-0, Yong Sport Academy stunned defending champions Victoria United 2-1, and Les Astres of Douala shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Union of Douala.
