2025 presidentials: aspirant, Jean Blaise Gwet, launches 8.7BFCFA fundraising campaign

The leader of the Patriotic Movement for Change in Cameroon made the announcement during a press conference held in Yaoundé recently where he also unveiled his political manifesto for the 2025 presidential election.

The leader of the Patriotic Movement for Change in Cameroon, PMCC, Jean Blaise Gwet has unveiled a major fundraising campaign aimed at raising 8.7 billion FCFA to finance his campaign.  Jean Blaise Gwet who is a declared aspirant for the October 2025 presidential election under the PMCC party, made the announcement during a press conference held in Yaoundé recently.

During the gathering, Gwet made a passionate appeal to his fellow citizens to contribute voluntarily to his cause, regardless of their financial means. He said the kind gesture of Cameroonians will be a key in driving his bid for a collective effort to fund his presidential contest. “Dear grandfather, dear grandmother, dear mother, dear father, dear brother, dear sister, dear youth, we need your 25 FCFA, 100 FCFA, 500 FCFA, 1000 FCFA, 5000 FCFA, 50,000 FCFA, 1,000,000 FCFA…

Whatever you can give will help us win,” he urged, emphasizing that every contribution, no matter how small, would play a vital role in his quest for victory. The funds raised through this initiative will be directed toward building both national and international strategies that will propel the PMCC to the highest levels of government.

Gwet also invited individuals interested in making a more active contribution to the campaign to reach out to his team for logistic and financial support to help spread his message throughout the country.

Cameroon’s third president in the making

The PMCC aspirant who is packaging himself as the “third President of the Republic of Cameroon,” also took the opportunity to unveil his political manifesto. His vision for the country is grounded in a broad range of commitments aimed at improving governance, strengthening social cohesion, and driving economic development. Among his key promises is the preservation of peace and the promotion of inclusive democracy.

He intends to modernize Cameroon’s republican institutions and ensure fair public financial management, all while encouraging private investment to boost the economy. Gwet has also emphasized the need for agricultural development and youth employment, recognizing the importance of creating opportunities for young people in the workforce.

He is committed to establishing a robust social security system that is accessible to all, ensuring that vulnerable populations and minorities are protected, and reforming the education system to better prepare future generations for the challenges ahead. He also aims to revitalize the housing sector and improve living conditions in both urban and rural areas, with a focus on ensuring that everyone, no matter their background, has access to basic amenities and opportunities.

In addition to domestic priorities, Gwet has outlined plans to enhance Cameroon’s international standing through balanced cooperation with other nations. He aims to promote women’s participation in national development and implement policies that foster industrialization and local processing of raw materials, which would contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth.
