The partnership took action on key priorities for girls, include promoting inclusive education, preventing gender based violence, economically empowering women, and elevating girls voices as leadership.
A high-level meeting has been held to reinforced gender equality between Plan International and Cameroon’s Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family. This meeting builds on a revamped framework agreement signed in June 2025 between the Plan International Cameroon and the ministry was received by Minister Marie Thérèse Abena Ondoa, Cameroon’s Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family and Evariste Sindayigaya, Director of the Sub Region for Plan International.
The agreement according to MINPROFF reaffirms a shared commitment to social transformation and gender equality in the country. The collaboration is a movement aligned with Cameroon’s National Development Strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 5 (Gender Equality) per the partners.
The shared belief is that when girls lead, communities thrive, and when girls rise, nations transform. This strong partnership is moving ahead with a clear plan. By putting their skills and resources together, Plan International and the Ministry are creating real chances for girls and women in school, safety, and leadership.
Their shared goal understands that supporting girls is a basic part of helping the nation move forward, because girls who are given power become women who lift up their communities and help the country grow. By working as one, they are creating the base for a fairer and better future for everyone in Cameroon.
