This was during a ceremony that the Lamidat of Maroua on last Sunday, that the Lamido, Sa Majesté Abdoulaye Yerima Bakari, honored students from the Diamaré department for their academic excellence.
The Lamidat of Maroua hosted a ceremony on Sunday, September 21, to recognize 105 high-achieving students from the Diamaré department in the presence of local administrative and educational authorities.
During the second edition of the Academic Excellence Awards, Sa Majesté Abdoulaye Yerima Bakari, the Lamido of Maroua, presented awards to the students for their outstanding scholarly performance. The event was attended by Prefect Jean-Marc Ekoa Mbarga, delegates from the education sector, and other dignitaries.
In his address, the Lamido reaffirmed his commitment to promoting education in the region, stating that the initiative fulfills his promises to support learning and encourage excellence.
Students were honored across several categories, including academic performance, Islamic studies, national integration, and Quranic memorization. The ceremony marked the importance of knowledge and perseverance for the development of Diamaré.
