A video showing Abdoulaye Abakar tearing up images of President Biya went viral on social media platforms recently, sparking widespread outrage and criticism.
The video shows the suspect deliberately destroying official portraits of the president while holding up a photograph of former member of government and candidate in the forthcoming 2025 presidential election, Issa Tchiroma Bakary.
The incident, which unfolded in the heat of the election campaign, has been described as a deliberate provocation and a direct challenge to presidential authority.
