The CIMENCAM plant in Figuil recently hosted a ceremony celebrating academic excellence, bringing together students, educators, parents, and local officials in a vibrant atmosphere of pride and recognition.
Held on the factory’s esplanade, the event honored 60 outstanding students from six local schools, including Figuil 1 Public School, the Figuil General, Bilingual, and Technical High Schools, as well as Biou and Bidzar High Schools. Each recipient was recognized for their exceptional academic performance during the past school year.
Presiding over the ceremony, Factory Director Pierre Paul Mbarga underscored CIMENCAM’s unwavering commitment to education as a cornerstone of development. “At Cimfig, we believe that education is the foundation of all progress, both individual and collective. This is why we support projects that improve learning conditions,” he said, applauding the collaborative efforts of teachers, parents, and students.
Beyond its industrial mission, CIMENCAM continues to demonstrate its role as a responsible corporate citizen, integrating community support into its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy. The company’s initiatives extend across the region, from constructing boreholes and classrooms to supporting agriculture and offering youth training programs aimed at employability and empowerment.
The celebration of academic excellence also served as a platform for the presentation of sewing equipment to the Figuil multifunctional center and the awarding of driver’s licenses to young beneficiaries of the CIMENCAM Figuil training program—another illustration of the company’s investment in local capacity-building.
In his closing remarks, Director Mbarga reaffirmed CIMENCAM’s ongoing commitment to promoting education, skills development, and sustainable growth within the host communities. “We are proud to celebrate academic excellence in Figuil today, but our commitment does not stop there. We will continue to work hand in hand with our stakeholders for the well-being of all,” he declared.
The ceremony concluded with warm applause as the director delivered a message of unity and optimism: “Long live the cooperation between CIMENCAM, CIMENCAM Figuil, and the Figuil educational community! Long live academic excellence! Long live Cameroon!”
Through this initiative, CIMENCAM once again demonstrates its dedication to nurturing local talent, empowering youth, and fostering the future of education in Cameroon.
