At Bharat Summit 2025: SDF reaffirms commitment to global justice

The Social Democratic Front, SDF party, has reiterated its commitment to promoting global justice and progressive values following its participation in the Bharat Summit on Delivering Global Justice, held from April 25 to 26 in Hyderabad, India.

Led by National Chairman Hon. Joshua Osih, the SDF delegation joined more than 450 delegates from over 100 countries to discuss major global challenges, including equality, economic justice, and climate change. Osih delivered the opening statement at the summit, took part in key strategic panels, and chaired a session involving African political parties, reflecting his role as the Coordinator for Africa within the Progressive Alliance.

Speaking at the event, Osih emphasized the need for “a fairer and more democratic global order,” calling on political actors to resist authoritarianism and neo-colonial practices. The summit concluded with the adoption of the Hyderabad Resolution: Delivering Global Justice, a charter reaffirming the international community’s collective commitment to freedom, equality, justice, and solidarity.

The resolution condemns terrorism in all its forms — including state-sponsored violence — and urges the democratization of multilateral institutions. “The Hyderabad Resolution embodies the principles the SDF has long stood for,” Osih said. “It is crucial that we work together across continents to build a just and inclusive world.” The SDF’s active participation in the Bharat Summit comes at a time when concerns over rising inequality and authoritarianism are growing globally. By aligning itself with the Hyderabad Resolution, the Cameroonian opposition party says it seeks to position itself firmly within the international progressive movement.

Analysts note that the SDF’s engagement on the international stage could bolster its image domestically, as it continues to advocate for political reform, democracy, and social justice in Cameroon. The Bharat Summit marked a major moment for progressive forces worldwide, with calls for stronger solidarity among nations and renewed efforts to counter unilateral coercive measures and protect democratic principles. As the global political landscape continues to evolve, the SDF says it remains determined to play its part in shaping a more equitable and democratic world order.
