 Empowering youth: Tchep’s mindset booster gets ministerial nod

Experts say the collaboration between the public sector and youth-led initiatives marks a pivotal step in Cameroon’s journey towards a future driven by innovation, entrepreneurship and civic responsibility.

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou has in a bid to strengthen the entrepreneurial and civic engagement of Cameroon’s youth, granted a special audience to the President and Founder of renown structure, Tchep’s Mindset Booster, TMB, Ninelle Tchepanou Sofack. It took place at the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education. The high-level meeting marked a significant milestone in collaborative efforts to empower young Cameroonians with tools and strategies to unlock their full potential, according to participants.

During the session, Ms. Tchepanou Sofack presented the vision and mission of TMB, an organization dedicated to cultivating a growth and entrepreneurial mindset among the youth. TMB’s work aligns closely with the Ministry’s flagship programme, Pronec-Reamorce, aiming to reinforce its impact through mindset transformation and strategic personal development.

In her presentation, the TMB founder emphasized how fostering an entrepreneurial spirit is crucial to Cameroon’s socio-economic development, stating that, “By transforming mindsets, we can create a generation of young people who are not only job seekers but job creators.” Following the exchange, the audience transitioned into the traditional flag-lowering ceremony marking the end of the working week.

As part of the civic engagement tradition, Ms. Tchepanou Sofack was given the honor of leading the “Minute of Civic-Mindedness,” a symbolic gesture underscoring her commitment to youth development. Also present at the ceremony was Hon Gabriel Fandja, President of the Education, Vocational Training and Youth Commission at the National Assembly. The lawmaker lauded the initiative, expressing admiration for both the TMB vision and the achievements of the Pronec-Reamorce programme.

In his closing remarks, Hon Fandja encouraged the Ministry to enhance communication efforts around Pronec-Reamorceto ensure greater national visibility. He further urged Ms. Tchepanou Sofack to work closely with the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education in guiding youth towards active citizenship and national development.
