On September 24, 2025, the town of Minta in the Upper-Sanaga division saw the inauguration of its first fuel station. Presented as a state initiative, the facility aims to ensure a consistent supply of fuel at official prices for local residents.
The station built by Hydrocarbon Price Stabilization Fund (CSPH), was officially opened by the Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana. The ceremony was attended by regional governors, national assembly officials, and heads of related state companies. Built on a 3,229 m² plot and fully funded by the CSPH, the station will be managed by the distributor Blessing Petroleum S.A.
Minister Mbarga Atangana stated that the infrastructure is a “special gift from the Head of State, Paul Biya,” and is part of a state policy to ensure equality between different territories. For the people of Minta and surrounding areas, the station guarantees a steady supply of fuel, kerosene, and domestic gas. This is expected to ease congestion at larger depots in Yaoundé and Nanga-Eboko.
The government has set official prices for the products, including domestic gas at 6,835 CFA francs per bottle, super fuel at 870 CFA francs per litre, and kerosene at 380 CFA francs per litre. The increased use of domestic gas is also noted as a positive step for environmental protection, as it can help reduce wood cutting and deforestation.
The minister concluded by thanking the Head of State and encouraging the continued support of Cameroon’s. This inauguration is described as a decisive step in the government’s policy to bring essential infrastructure closer to citizens and improve living standards across the country.
