Secondary education: students begin sitting BACC exam

The annual academic event marks a critical evaluation period for candidates seeking to complete their secondary education.

The 2025 Baccalauréat examinations BACC officially began yesterday Monday May 26 with thousands of secondary school students in the French sub-system of education across Cameroon answered present. This annual academic event marks a critical evaluation period for candidates seeking to complete their secondary education. Organized by the Office du Baccalauréat du Cameroun, OBC, the examinations are being conducted in approved centers under strict supervision.

Education officials have implemented standard security protocols, including identity verification and examination slip checks, to maintain the integrity of the process. Invigilators are monitoring all centers to ensure compliance with examination regulations. This session includes students from General, Technical and Professional education tracks. The exams will continue for several days, with different subject tests scheduled according to each candidate’s specialization. The Baccalauréat serves as Cameroon’s official secondary school leaving certificate and university entrance qualification.

Results from this year’s session will be released in July, determining students’ eligibility for higher education opportunities. Immediately after this session comes the (BEPC) Brevet d’études du premier cycle. The outcome will shape the academic and professional futures of thousands of young Cameroonians. In this regard, candidates are expected to do their best for a positive outcome at the end time.
