Tech & AI take root : new vocational curricular for 2025/2026

This new direction was announced by the Minister of Secondary Education, Professor Nalova Lyonga, during the official inauguration of the Ekounou Government Technical Vocational High School of Civil Engineering.

The 2025-2026 school year in Cameroon’s secondary education sector is set to be defined by significant curricular modernization, with a strong emphasis on technical, vocational, and digital skills. The newly opened school itself stands as a model for this future focused vision.

 It is already equipped with smart boards and has integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools into its teaching and learning processes according the head of department, serving as a practical example of the ministry’s objectives. Minister Nalova Lyonga outlined the broad plan to develop updated curricular across a diverse range of critical sectors.

These key areas include digital technology, construction, energy, agro-industry, metal carpentry, façade works, paintings, and civil engineering. A central pillar of this educational reform is the planned integration of Artificial Intelligence tools into pedagogical methods, aiming to modernize and enhance the overall learning experience for students Professor highlighted.
