This was during a visit to Bertoua where Minister Paul Atanga Nji instructed administrative authorities of the East region that a peaceful and orderly presidential election is imperative.
The Minister of Territorial Administration has called on all election stakeholders in the East region to demonstrate responsibility and ensure a peaceful electoral process, emphasizing that the presidential election must proceed without disorder in all subdivisions.
During a security meeting at the East Regional Governor’s office in Bertoua on September 22, the Minister of Territorial Administration issued a directive to administrative authorities. He stated that all election stakeholders must exhibit responsible behavior and that everyone should rise to the task.
Instructing that candidates must promote peaceful coexistence, avoid hate speech, and refrain from actions that could compromise security. He emphasized that the presidential election must unfold smoothly, without any form of disorder, in all 360 subdivisions of the region before, during, and after the elections.
